The start order for the first ever Big White Winter Stage Rally has been posted on the Entry List page. The Valley Mitsubishi SnowX entry list has also been updated.
Volunteer Assignments Have Been Posted
Big White Rally Weekend Volunteers should check the ‘Volunteers‘ page for updated assignment information. Volunteers will be receiving emails with relevant documents and names of their teams. The lunch survey will be posted shortly.

Prescribed Burn Rally Team Call for Service Crew
Local Prescribed Burn Rally Team drivers Craig Ross and Mark Jennings-Bates are looking for volunteer service crew for the upcoming Big White Rally Weekend. All their usual Prescribed Burn Teammates are busy running the snowX and stage rally, so if you’re good with rally cars and keen to lend a hand, contact the drivers:

Big White Rally Weekend Prizes
The organizers of Targa Canada West have donated a free entry to the May 2010 Targa Bambina Kelowna Rally for the fastest lap at Saturday’s Valley Mitsubishi SnowX Competition.
Prize Funds are also growing for the following awards:

Please consider donating to these prize funds to show support for the competitors and volunteers coming out for the rally weekend. Payments can be made at the event; jars will be available at registration, through the mail or online transfers.
Big White Rally Weekend Garners Outstanding Volunteer Response
The Big White Rally Weekend is at full capacity for volunteers; thanks to all who have registered. At present, the only volunteers we can accept for the event are HAM radio operators. Anyone else interested in the event is encouraged to come out and spectate. The weather forecast is predicting sunny skies, so it should be a great weekend to watch rally cars slide around in the snow! See the ‘Spectators’ page for more information.
Big White Rally Weekend Safety Demo in Review
The Valley Mitsubishi Rally car was up at the mountain earlier this week for a safety demo with the Big White Volunteer Fire Department. Rally driver Craig Ross, organizer Jennifer Daly and safety team members Dave Steeper and Eric Bauld attended the meeting to familiarize the volunteers with rally safety gear, including head and neck devices, which have been required to rally since earlier this year. The mechanics of extracting crew from a caged car and the stage locations for the rally weekend were also reviewed.
Thanks to the Big White Fire Department for their time and interest, and for their support during the Big White Rally Weekend!

As part of their support for the Big White Rally Weekend, Valley Mitsubishi is offering a 25% discount on merchandise for the rally weekend volunteers. Just let them know you are a volunteer when you stop in!
Event Update: Volunteer SnowX and Stage Rally Entry Deadline
The Sunday volunteer snowX is FULL. There is still room available for Saturday’s Valley Mitsubishi SnowX; see the Documents page for entry forms. Entrants for either day of snowX will need a club membership and a competition license, also available on the Documents page. Saturday competitors should email the organizers to reserve a spot on the entry list; pre registration will also be available during this Sunday’s volunteer training session.
This coming Wednesday, November 25 is the EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE for the Big White Winter Rally. Teams must contact the organizers before midnight to be eligible for the early entry fee discount.

Thank you to all the competitors, volunteers, sponsors and spectators for helping make the 2009 Big White Rally Weekend a success! The third annual Big White Rally Weekend will take place December 3-5, 2010 at the Big White Ski Resort, in Kelowna, British Columbia. The format is TBD but will likely be recce Friday, Stage Rally and SnowX Saturday, and SnowX Sunday.
